Central Puerto acquires its first solar park: Guañizuil II A
Central Puerto, the largest electricity producer at the national level, acquired from the Norwegian companies SCATEC and EQUINOR its first solar park, Guañizuil II A, located in the province of San Juan.
It has 358,560 panels, an electrical generation of approximately 300 GWh/year, and a nominal power of 117 MWdc.
The San Juan park, which has been operational for two years, has a capacity factor of 33%, surpassing the regional average, allowing it to produce energy to supply the demand of 86,000 households. This feature positions it as the third largest in Argentina and one of the best in the world.
This new acquisition represents the confirmation of our commitment over the past years to improve performance in the renewable energy market, producing sustainable energy in harmony with the environment. On the other hand, it is a clear sign that we continue to invest in high-technology generation projects and bet on our country,” stated Fernando Bonnet, General Manager of Central Puerto.
With this addition, Central Puerto will generate 9.6% of the country’s solar energy, reaching 475 MW of renewable energy, of which 80% is from wind power and 20% is from solar power.
